789R is due to calve in March to TRIO's Sequoia 112S. She strikes one of the most beautiful profiles to be found in the Red Brangus breed. This second generation female brings together several notable names: sired by CX Excalibur 19/M, she descends from Mears Better Heavy 325 and El Cid 52/U5. On her dam's side she goes back directly to the prolific 360C female. The sire of her calf, Sequoia, is an equally impressive individual, siring our most exciting calves in 2009.

From the top of the Broken A Ranch spring heifer calves comes a female bred to make her mark. “Sapphire” is the product of two Houston Grand Champions: TRIO’s Sequoia 112S, the 2007 ARBA Grand Champion Bull and Dos XX’s Ruby 14/4, the 2006 and 2005 International Red Brangus Reserve Grand Champion Female. “Ruby” was also the 2006 ARBA Grand Champion Female in Houston.
Experienced cattlemen know that our business is built on great cow families - and “Sapphire” is a prime example of this. Her paternal dam is the tremendous “Daphne” donor female, the two time ARBA Grand Champion Female. “Sapphire” is a natural calf of “Ruby” who has established herself as a prolific donor and matron of sale favorites and champions. “Ruby” has progeny in multiple herds in the U.S., Mexico and Argentina. A daughter, Broken A Ultima 14U2, was named Grand Champion Female at the Western National and National Show of Merit shows in 2009. Another daughter Broken A Tinkerbell 14T2 was an award winning show heifer. Both of these maternal sisters to Sapphire were selected by the Scott Family of Angleton. Finally, a third sister, Broken A Unity 14U3 was Reserve Grand Champion of the State Fair of Texas Junior Show for Alexandra Acord.
